I ran across a 20 year old box of lead SWC that I had in my attic. There is no corrosion, but they are clumped together. When I say clumped, I mean a 500 bullet clump. The original coating is very sticky. Are these bullets safe to use? Is there something I need to do to them before they can be use for reloading?

ahh.....melt them and recast

--------------
wrap the nose of regular household plyers with masking tape ( to prevent leaving marks)
and hold a bullet and wiggle. if you can get them to come apart with out deforming them
your ok. but if they have exchanged electrons.... go with my 1st idea.

Had the same thing happen to me last summer.

Heat them just enough to get the old lube to melt away (I put them in a sieve in front of a space heater for a few hours) , tumble lube with alox, and load them as usual.

You should send them all to me for proper hazmat disposal.
Everybody knows that sticky bullets will stick in your barrel.
