Matter of Perspectives.

"Did I do good?" The young lady asked me with a big grin as I piddled with a Old 870 she bought with a grin bigger than hers.

Matter of perspectives.

She heard through a friend a young man was going to sell a "old shotgun" as he needed the money to buy a new shotgun.

He had "some accessories" already, just needs a gun to bolt them onto. This new shotgun is "gonna do everything from quail, clay games, 3 gun and Stuff Hitting The Fan". If he ever decides to do any of these things he shared, he has never hunted, never been to a clay range, never seen a 3 gun event, and just turned 21 so he does not know the laws real well on defending one's self.

Since I was out of pocket, she had a another lady go with her, and meet this young man in a neutral, but safe spot. This young man does not work at the local office, but one in another town.

Older 870 12 gauge, 2 3/4" chambers, 26" fixed choke barrel. Great wood, nice deep bluing, crisp trigger and smooth as glass.

Box has since been tossed, but the instruction manual came with it. There is no mention of Rem-Oil in this manual of course. Gun has only been shot a few times. Barely any marks.

Tossed in with the gun, is almost full tin of Browning Gun Oil. An older Uncle bought some of these 870s as shared, and held onto them in the event he had nephews or nieces some day...

$125 for this Shotgun and Browning Gun Oil.

"What else you have you want to get rid of?"

Another Tin can of Browning Gun Oil and Tin of Hoppe's Gun oil - never opened.
$3 for the Browning, $2 for the Hoppe's

$130 sub total.

Chapman tool kit never used , in the old red box $3
Parkawood cleaning rod, look like it has never been used -with mops, $3
MEC 12 ga shell stacker $1

$137 sub total.

Peter's Blue Paper Hulled shells , Target Load #8 NIB -$4
Zippo Brass Lighter, NIB - $6
One quart bottle of Hoppe's No. 9 , made by Penguin Industries. About a half of the bottle left. $3
Small Bottle (2 oz) of Hoppe's No. 9 also made by Penguin Industries, never opened and in the cardboard box - .50

$150.50 Total.

Larry Ashcraft's brother informed me in Tulsa that collector's pay up to $65
for a Tin of Browning Gun oil and up to $45 for a tin of Hoppe's Gun oil.

For your information, Hoppe's by Penguin Industries - is the Original.

Oh the gun is legit, she found some papers and all in the box that verifies who the Uncle was, and this young man being the nephew.

Since the young man did not want the .50 in change " Just round it off to a $150."

$150 total

:D :D :D

"You are like a little boy using that old Hoppe's No. 9 and Browning Gun oil. You get this smirky far away look too. " she said to me as we took this Old gun down, sealed the ends and internal bolt hold, forearm with Johnson's paste wax, RIG on the bolt threads and all...

I didn't grow up - just got bigger is all...:)
