Most likely, they are the same.
Don't get too feisty torquing the screws on your reciever. The aluminum is easy to strip out.
My BLR is an early '81 with steel reciever. It had Weaver bases on it when I aquired it from the widow of my best friend after he passed away in '98. Only change I made was to replace Steel medium height rings and compact Leupold 2-7, with low aluminum rings and standard Vari-X 2-7x. Rear sight required medium rings for front scope bell to clear it.
I also removed the heavy thick recoil pad and fitted a Boyd's 1/2" pad. Vastly improved the pointing and handling of the rifle. Reduced weight a half pound, too.
Even though it's in a heavy hitter caliber (.358win), recoil isn't bad. However, I just prefer my Marlin M336 .35Rem. Better trigger, equal accuracy and punch.
