Hey anybody,I just purchased a older ruger Blackhawk 357. 5.5 barrel with fixed front and rear sights. All the black hawks I have ever owned or seen had adjustable rear sights. I have tried to pull up images of the single action with no luck. Has any body seen a blackhawk with valquero type sights?the serial number says it what made around 1978 to 1980.

I don't believe that Ruger ever made a Blackhawk with fixed sights that was not a Vaquero. Sounds like it may have been a custom job, especially with a 5 1/2" barrel (6 1/2" was the standard for .357 guns). Did you measure the barrel from the back of the forcing cone to the muzzle or from the front of the frame to the muzzle? The correct way is from the back of the forcing cone.

Can you post pics of this gun?

I have never seen or heard of a fixed sight Blackhawk but would imagine it could have been done by a custom gunsmith. Should be interesting to see if the OP can get some photos posted.

I"ve never seen a fixed sight B.hawk either, and I've handled a ton of them over the years. I have to ask, does it say Blackhawk on it.?
