She came to visit yesterday along with her mother and two sisters, She was a happy young woman having just passed hunter's safety with the highest score in the class but a bit bummed at missing only one question. If she had gotten them all correct she would have been automatically entered in all the state's draw hunts.I didn't ask how she thought she would be able to go on any of the hunts. Deer would be the only reasonable one as they are numerous below the near by caprock but difficult to find in the sand dunes. She also gets to go to the Whittington Center in August to shoot. Pawpaw bought her a new Savage 22 rifle to use Saturday. She is on the fence about shooting a pistol saying it has to be with one hand. I told her that was the standard years ago so not to worry about it and will work with her this summer to familiarize her with the technique. I think I remember how it's done. Duh. If she is strong enough she can use my Ruger MK IV. She is only 5' 2" and maybe a 115 pounds and I don't know how much shooting will be done. If it's a lot it may tire her out. I have a MK III 22/45 lite that won't but it's so bouncy I doubt she would be very good with it. I'm certainly not.
