Great show!

Oleg,

You were great! awesome show. Tom, I love GunTalk and look forward to it every Sunday. I plan to call in soon, great show!! :)

The biggest problem with the show is that there is never enough time!

You would think that three hours is plenty of time to talk about this stuff, but I always have to push to keep it moving, to try to get in as much as possible.

Some shows end up being mostly about politics. Some end up being almost all technical. Can't please everyone, so I just try to do what's interesting to me, and hope that others find it worth listening to.

I enjoyed yesterday's show. Both Oleg and Alan Korwin (www.gunlaws.com) are wonderful guests, though they are quite different.

Just like the cross-section of gun owners here!

As Clint Smith says, we're all alike, but we're all different.

Getting all three hours

Tom,
I used to have problems with that. By default, iTunes will only download the most recent podcast. You have two options:
On a Mac: Click "iTunes-Preferences-Podcasts"
On a PC, "Edit-Preferences-Podcasts"
Select "When new episodes are available: Download All"

Second option. Click the little triangle next to "Guntalk's Podcast" That will expand the list of episodes that iTunes sees as available. Click the "Get" button next to the episodes that are missing.

I'm sure this show was fanastic -- Unfortunately someone as myself will never know unless there's a transcript written up.. A bit long I'd think if this did go on for 3 hours! From what I've read about GunTalk - this kind of thing needs to be more widesperead throughout the community. :)

Edit - Forgot to say why; I don't hear too well these days (deaf) Saves me the trouble on having to lug around earmuffs though. ;)

Nice show, well done both of you. Oleg, I can only hope to sound that reasonable and rational when it comes my turn to explain why we have gun rights.

Tex

I'm listening to the podcast right now. Oleg sounds exactly as I imagined he would. So far everything sounds good, and uncompromising assessment of the role of guns in our society today and the "culture war" in which we are engaged.

Oleg's Points

I especially liked his goal of making gun ownership "unremarkable."

It was that way before.

It can be that way again.

Tom, thank you for inviting Oleg on to your show. I missed the original show, but listened via the podcast option. Oleg, you were very good. Well composed and your statements well thought out. You have had a pretty remarkable life (and so young) which I knew little of.

When I was a kid, firearm ownership was very unremarkable in Pennsylvania where I grew up. Everyone pretty much had guns of some sort. Times have changed and your desire to make firearm ownership unremarkable is appropriate. It should not even have to be said. In addition, I liked both of your comments concerning stereotypes of liberal and conservative relative to firearms. Firearms are not political. They are things that have no mind of their own. The restrictions that our government representatives try to place on them are very political and we all need to work together to help ensure that more restrictions are not placed on firearm ownership or use. The DC ruling is most interesting. If and when the Supreme Court addresses this issue, I hope there is no question as to the right to keep and bare arms here in the US.

I cant get the show , but got the mp3 from the site , Great job and kudos to both tom and olig . I normaly get all of tom's show listened to as time allows throughout the week lol .

I didn't know Oleg was on!

I actually called in on the segment with Alan Korwin. Look at my .sig and you can probably guess which caller i was

I'll have to get the podcast now!

Oleg also walks the walk...

Oleg is the best person I know about introducing new people to shooting. That is by far the best thing that we can all do to ensure that firearms ownership is unremarkable.

I just listened to it and Way to go Oleg Volk!!!

Very well put.

I saved the mp3 on my computer to listen to it again in case I missed anything. :D

Thanks Tom... Maybe one day! I can still pretty much garner what was talked about on these forums, usually, and I'm grateful enough for that alone.
