With a 1911 grip safety not depressed is it acceptable to have some trigger movement as long as trigger bow does engage grip safety and does not tripp sear or should a properly fitted grip safety not allow any trigger movement at all untill depressed.
Reason for asking is I have two 1911's and one allows a small amount of trigger movement and the other doesn't, both pass all sefety tests.
Thanks

Most people doing work on the 1911 type prefer to have minimal trigger movement, but I would say it is normal to have a fair amount of trigger movement with the grip safety not held in. The grip safety is only designed to block the trigger bow, not the sear, and as long as it keeps the trigger bow from coming back far enough to disengage the sear, that is good enough.
