One auto and one revolver?

S&W model 625 and a hi-cap 1911 .45ACP.

Yes, I like the .45ACP round. ;)

Though I could probably be convinced to migrate to 10mm on both...

For sheer parts availability if that is your foremost criteria (like some sort of SHTF scenario), then:

1911 style and K-frame S&W.

My personal preference, regardless of any silly SHTF scenario:

SIG 226 and K-frame S&W.

If I had to whittle down to two I already own, it would be the P228 and the S&W Model 27 wheelgun. But I'm keeping the others.

I would have my rbh.44 and my 1911a1 SA(to trade in) for a S&W k frame. Either that or give me my RBH and My 8 3/8 .500 S&W.

Revo: Ruger GP100
Auto: a small carry auto like a Kahr MK9

If not for the need for a carry gun, my one auto would be a SIG P220ST.

As some others have remarked, this question would be easier if it was simply "two handguns": a S&W 642 for concealed carry and a Ruger GP100 for everything else.

If I could only have one of each, it would be a quality 5" 1911 in .45 and a Ruger 7 1/2" Super Blackhawk .44 Mag.

Only Two

Springfield XD9 series in 9mm for practice and volume carry and S&W model 19 in 357 mag in 3 or 4 inch for power.

Limited too one each:

6" six-shot Smith & Wesson 686

and

SIG-SAUER .45 caliber P220A

My choice is ALMOST exactly the same:

S&W 686 Plus (7-shot model), 6" barrel

Sig Sauer P220ST

Even here in Australia I can own more than two. If I was restricted, then it would be a model 66 S&W with a 4 inch barrel and a Glock 17.

Of course, everyone should own a Beretta, 1911 and N frame Smith in addition to the above, as the bare minimum. :)

Auto-10mm Glock 20 with a 40 S&W conversion barrel and an Action Arms 22 conversion (I definately need to look into one of these).
Revolver- 3 inch K frame 357 mag.

Although the guns I use most are a SIG 239 in 40 and a 642 S&W. These are carried every day.

Maybe I'm a silly bugger...

Makarov. (Small, light, works great. Tough.)
Python 4" (Reasonable to carry with the right clothes. Ultimate fightstopper.)

I don't own a Python. I shot one, and I now have to have one. I just can't justify 800 dollars or more for a wheelgun.
