Yes, we won a huge victory today with the defeat of President Obama's gun control scheme. However, it it only one battle in a war that will never end.

We need to know focus on the next elections and remove those from office who voted to infringe upon American's 2nd Amendment rights.

Some have said that you can't be a single issue voter. It's everyone's choice. But we lost Colorado, Maryland, and Connecticut recently. If you don't think it can happen where you live, ask the residents of Colorado. The problem is if the anti's pass so many laws that they do irrevocable damage before we can repair the damage.

So, we won one battle, but we need to remove those who voted against the 2nd Amendment from office and once again show politicians that our Constitutional rights are non-negotiable. Some have said that the pro 2nd Amendment folks and NRA don't have the power that we once held, we need to prove to them that we still do at the polls.

We didn't "Win" anything to day. Seven amendments were stopped and there are two more amendments up for votes at 9:00 am on tomorrow, 4/18.

All seven of the amendments to Reids gun control bill were defeated today. Unfortunately two of them were good amendments, including Senator Cornyn's for universal CCW recognition.

It was Absolutely Disgraceful... That 44 senators, lead by Schumer of NY, voted today to oppose removing 165,000 American veterans from the FBIs NICS prohibited persons list preventing them from legally possessing a firearm because someone in the VA decided they have a problem handling their financial affairs. This amendment required 60 votes to pass and only 56 senators supported our veterans. Then, somewhat encouraging, were that 57 senators did vote in favor of the amendment for universal recognition of concealed carry permits, only 3 short of approval.

But, on the positive side, the California retards assault weapons ban was rejected by 60 senators and the high capacity magazine ban was rejected by 54 senators.

Twiki357, we did win. One battle in a war. And Reid is pulling the legislation. The fact that more senators voted for the reciprocity carry than the other amendments is a huge deal.
