I've noticed a whole lotta people (including myself) buying POS mosins and whatnot that have slews of problems: sticky bolt, bad headspace, stripped screws, cobbled together parts guns.

So, perhaps we could build a list of good online dealers to buy from? From what I've read by doing searches here at THR and listening to the usual C&R suspects:

1. www.aimsurplus.com
2. www.empirearms.com
3. www.aztecguns.com (they have VERY few guns for sale, though)
4. www.classicarms.us (controversial company due to not being purist)
5. www.impactguns.com (seem to be out of stock frequently)
6. www.jgsales.com
7. www.jandcsales.com (most milsurp ammo)

well, that's only 7 (and really only six are gun dealers).

Anymore?

edit: Unfortunately, many of these places also sell guns that are from Century Int. C&R buyers should probably be aware that Century has gotten quite a reputation for selling guns that aren't put together well. Mosins with sticky bolts often come to mind. Perhaps one should ask if guns to be purchased are imported by Century...

As far as I am aware. CAI does not put its suplus rifle's togther. The WASR, Cetme, M70, etc are put togther by them. But the Mosisn, K31, SKS's, M95, etc are just imported by them and some of them still have the orginal cosmo on them.

Great thread.

Wholesale Guns & Ammo, for super Finn M39's with A+ shipping and individual pix and descriptions for each rifle. Wish they all did that.

www.gunsnammo.com

not connecting right now...

AIM, Empire and J&G rock, as well as Classic Arms.

Seems like a good list. Nothing wrong with Century's milsurps, they run the table from "fair" to Excellent and are graded accordingly. They are by far the largest importer in the states. Samco usually imports some nice rifles and they don't have near the large "billboard" Century uses. All in all I think that Aim is hard to beat. Never had a bad deal with them, SOG is usually quite good but has some sales policies that I don't agree with. Classic is another company that usually does things right, despite their pimptacular russian carbines!:neener:

Empire is excellent if you're looking for very nice guns and are willing to pay a bit more for the quality.

There were recent complaints about a batch of Finn M91s that they were selling-complaints that the rifles were so nice, the buyers didn't want to take them to the range to shoot.:D

Also, if you've got a "must have" on your wish list, they take requests.

i really like century. they advertise a lot of their rifles in far worse shape then they actually are. i've ordered guns that were advertised as more or less beater guns, but were in better shape than some of my 'excellent condition' guns.

dealt with J&G plenty of times. Never had a bad experience , about ready to make the trek from Vegas to their store again to stock up :)

Classic had few milsurps chromed and put for sale. M-38s and similar cheap, highly available C&R firearms. Some didn't like it. I think Classic is smart enough to realize that wouldn't be a good business decision on a K-98 or Garand.

heh

hard chromed garand lol

what i would really like to see is a hard chromed Russian Nagant pistol ROFL

maybe with a gold electroplated cylinder!!

hahahah
ok, now back to our regular programming / topic.

anyone anyone??????????????????????/

What Happened to all of Empires 98ks? They used to have a lot of them?
