Hi all,

I am pretty new to handgunning and would like learn the basics of marksmanship and then progress to concealed carry/self-defense/tactical training. I do intend to take these types of courses with a real instructor, but does anyone know of any online resources that contain training exercises/instruction for basic marksmanship and beyond? I'd like to read these and use the training each time I go to the range.

About a year ago, I started shotgunning and then found this forum. Luckily, there's a gentleman over in the Shotgun Forum named Dave McCracken who put together an awesome set of posts collectively called "Shotgunning 101". They've been invaluable to me during my shotgun learning process. If you're a new shotgunner, you should definitely check them out. I wonder if anyone has ever created something similar for handguns?

Thanks for your time.

Chris

Download the Army Pistol Marksmanship Training Manual from this site: Bullseyepistol.com and other usefull files.

Bullseye only allows the use of an unsuppoted one hand to hold the pistol when shooting. The basics of marksmanship are the same using a 2 handed hold so every thing that applies to accurate shooting in Bullseye applies to 2 handed shooting.

You may want to check out the Brian Enos forum board.

While it is geared toward competition and will not help you on defensive or tactical decision making it is a great resource for learning how to shoot accurate and fast.
