I bought my 1911 from impactguns.com - I have no complaints about their service, and I wouldnt think twice about dealing with them again.

However...

I am looking for a SigP220, or H&K USP (still undecided) - As for Sig, they have almost nothing in stock... I got a decent deal on my 1911, and they have decent prices on H&K's, and surprisingly they also have lots to choose from - but when looking at Sigs, I'm not crazy about their prices either. I really don't want to wait 6-8 weeks for them to get a pistol in stock, which might push me towards the USP by default - but if I DID decide to go with Sig, any advice on a good site I could buy from?

If possible, I'd like replies from people who have personally bought online - but if a good friend or relative had a good experience (timely shipping and delivery are mainly what I am concerned about) I'd like to know about that as well... Thanks to all in advance :)

James at ordnanceoutsellers.com usually has pretty good prices on HKs and on some of the sig models. He's a heck of a nice guy too.

Depending on model, I'd have a quick look through the CDNN catalogue too. They don't have quite the selection of models/variants, but what they do have is usually priced pretty well.

I can't believe I forgot cdnnsports.com

Grab their pdf catalog

I bought my last 3 handguns through gunbroker.com from 3 different vendors, 2 used and 1 NIB. I always check out the feedback on sellers and have thus far had success. My last purchase was a FN Hi Power that CDNN had for $100 more than the gunbroker dealer. poppy

Thanks a lot, everyone! I found a few local sites (PA & KY based) also, so now I think the hardest part will be finding the best deal... That, and not emptying my savings account this Christmas :D

Nice prices/selection on all these sites, btw! Can't thank you guys enough. Thanks again, and anyone else is welcome to post more sites here if you know of another online gun/accessories shop.

I'd like to add Bachmann Pawn and Gun out of the DFW, TX area. They've consistently beat other's prices on Sigs and Colts and were very easy to deal with. Got my NRM Stainless Colt Commander for $694 and LNIB Sig P220Rail Ilaflon with Siglites for $479!

I've bought couple Colt & Springfield 1911, Glock, HK, S*g from sportingarms.
good prices, but I found a local dealer that is cheaper or about the same price.

If PA is local, Grant at Sportsman's Supply in Butler does a great job in person or over the 'net. Sportsmans

I'm right down the road from Bachman's - nothing wrong with the place, but I've found their Colt prices to be consistently hammered by WildWest. Just ask for the department of tacticality. They do a great job on custom stuff as well.

I have done some business with www.sportingarms.com and they have ALWAYS been great people. You gotta love a real gun shop being operated by a woman, out of her house.

I have also bought from Bachman. I did biz with them at a local show, which was pretty decent. On the other hand, dealing with them at their retail location sucks. The inventory is crappy and so was their attitude.

Wow, this is a great thread with lots of nice links. Never bought online before but will consider it. There are great prices up there, although I think I'll lose some of it on the FFL transfer fees.

Go to www.shotgunnews.com and follow the link to their dealer selector. Enter you zip code or city or state for a list of dealers who do transfers in your area.

If the zip code doesn't have any with low fees, try by city or state. I was able to find a dealer to do the transfer for $10 that was only a small jog off my normal commute.
