This is from Reuters, via the Drudgereport. I say again..."I am the only one in this room professional enough to handle..."

Two Secret Service officers were injured on Tuesday after a gun held by another Secret Service officer accidentally fired inside the White House gate, according to a spokesman, Darrin Blackford.

Their injuries are non-life threatening, the spokesman said.

One officer suffered a shrapnel wound to the face, and the other was wounded in the leg.

They were taken to George Washington Hospital.

I think they should ratify a Constitutional amendment classifying all law enforcment, local, state, and federal, as "civilians". Anyone who's been in the military knows that the cops are civilian authorities, but the definition of "civilian" has changed over the last few years (since the 80s?) to exclude police officers.

The Amendment would go on to state that law enforcement, being civilian, are subject to the same restrictions on firearms as the rest of the citizenry.

If ten round mags are good enough for the American people, they're damned well good enough for the ATF, FBI, Secret Service, and your local PD.

If "nobody needs an assault rifle", then that should include cops. Shotguns and revolvers got them through for decades, right?

Pipe dream, I know. Gun control would fizzle out overnight, though.
