I just started reloading. I've been doing batches of 5 rounds. 3 of the last 5 rounds I did, I forgot to prime the cases. Luckily, I noticed before I went to fire them. (I haven't had the chance to fire any of my reloads yet.) Would it be safe to place the unprimed rounds in a shell holder on my press and use plyers to pull the bullets and recover the powder? THe loads are 45 ACP using Sierra 185gr HP and universal powder in 6.8, 6.9 and 7 grains.

BTW, I will be ordering a bullet puller with my next paycheck.

Would it be safe? Sure....

Would it be worth your time? Probably not. Pliers are going to ruin your bullets. I would just put them to the side until you have a bullet puller and then pull them properly.

As esheato says...Set-em aside and wait for your bullet puller....:) I've done that, but I usually notice the powder drifting out of the flash hole before I do the second one...;)

And while I've seen folks prime loaded rounds, I wouldn't recommend the concept.

(how many fingers you got? how many can you spare?)

Nor would I. Notice I asked if it would be safe to pull the bullets using a certain method. I've decided to just wait for the bullet puller.

I would just toss them in the dud bucket at the range (or in a plain old trash can at home). If you wait until you get a bullet puller you can salvage the bullets and brass, but don't try to recycle the powder. Chances are you will have forgotten by then what those rounds were loaded with. Just dump it on the grass. You're only talking about saving 3 bullets and brass, right?

Well, I am only using one powder for pistol and one for rifle, right now. So, it's not going to make a difference.

A bullet puller is ~$20. Just get one. The rounds will keep until then.

And, I've already ordered it. It should be here by Friday. Along with an electronic scale and check weights. My vision is not the best, and the Lee scale is just to hard to read and adjust. There is a reason that every one of my rifles has either a red-dot or magnifying scope.

Given what you said about your vision, I thought I would post this. I seated a few bullets too deep once and used my impact type (sort of like a hammer) bullet puller to pull the bullets. As I was about to toss the powder, I noticed it looked a little funky. Yellowish IIRC. I think I had dislodged some of the primer material, so I deprimed and used the case and bullet after repriming, dropping another charge of powder.
