open carry in colorado springs

So this weekend I decided to open carry as normal. My wife and sister wanted to go to the citadel mall and I said no problem, strapped on my gun and left. We went in the dillards enterance and I checked for no weapons signs and saw none. A few stores later I was approached by security officers who instructed me to leave the mall. As I walked out I was confronted by a colorado springs police officer who informed me that there were "no weapons" signs posted on all of the mall enterances. When I explained that there was not one on the dillards door, he told me that dillards was seperate. Has this happened to anyone else?

If Dillards is separate, does that mean you can carry in Dillards but not the rest of the mall? If so, you would think they would have signs posted at the mall entrance from the store? Or is the Dillards not physically attached to the mall?

Of course, if they ask you to leave, you need to leave. Bring up their failings later.
