MCgunner, whereabouts do you live in Port Lavaca?

My step-great-grandfather lived inbetween Port Lavaca and Tivoli, and my great-aunt lived in Tivoli proper. I haven't been down there in 9 or 10 years since they passed away, but I figure the mosquitoes are still as large as mourning doves.

You guys are killin' me. The season opens October 4th here in Florida. I've got a Dove Club permit to hunt a state run special opportunity field fot all 8 hunts it is open. It's one of the better ones in the state. They've got probably a hundred acres of millet out there. I just wish I could go to sleep for another twenty something days so I could hurry and hunt!

I have seen more doves than ever in the past few weeks around here. Apparently the biologists have noticed too, we are allowed 15/day here and it was 12/day last year. It's going to be a great year!
