A no-pin Mosin 91-30 rear site base?

Because the ammo is cheap and the round is a good one, my son and I both bought Mosin Nagant 91-30 rifles. His was made in 1934 at the Tula works and mine at Is(whatever) in 1930. We want to scope both rifles.

This rifle has a 11mm dovetail welded to the barrel beneath the scope mount that can be used for this purpose with a long eye relief scopes.

My rear site base has two pins that can be removed, but his does not appear to have pins at all.

Has anybody confronted a no-pin Mosin rear site base, and if so how do we remove it?

Is it soldered on and if so where should we apply heat to remove it?

Thanks for any assistance you can give.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know the best way to de-solder the base?
