Opinion Needed on a 338 Win Mag

Well, lets see. 600 usd +30% exchange rate =$780 canadian. Add 300 for the mb = $1080. Add a scope mount and rings, say $50, plus the limbsaver, roughly $40.00. That brings us up to $1170.00. Now subtract for being used and condition, (you will have to do that calculation, as i can not see the rifle). Then add for any add on and accessories like sling, ammo, etc. And that will give you your answer. I have not shot a 338, or owned a ruger rifle. So i can not comment on those aspects. Another thing to think about is the fit of the rifle, if it fits you to a "t", that is a plus. You can not put a dollar value on that, but it is very important. So far, to me, it doesnt look to bad. A roughly $1200 gun for $900. So that amounts to a $400.00 discount for being 2 years used. It may not be a quick turn around for profit rifle. But it does not sound like this is what you want it for, you intend to hunt with it. You will have to make the final decision. Good luck, and good hunting!

I have decided against buying this rifle. I think that I will go with the A-Bolt White Gold Medallion in 300 Win Mag or the A-Bolt Stainless Stalker in 300 Win Mag. Thanks for all the advise!!

I like the .338 win Mag cartridge and Ruger rifles, but I wouldn't own a hunting rifle with a muzzle brake.

Grandpa and Uncle are deaf as bricks - I plan to preserve my hearing. Brakes are OK for me at the range, but I wear plugs AND muffs at the range.
