Just picked one of these up the other day. Finally got a chance to put some rounds through it as well. Only had time for 150rnds of 230grn American Eagle FMJ. This thing never missed a beat. No problems of any kinda so far. Very accurate when I do my part, sights are dead on. The holster that comes with it isn't bad, isn't great, but it's what I got so far. I do like the mag pouch that came with it. I've never really taken much notice of the XD series until now, and turns out I like them alot. I'm planning on running another 500rnd through it this weekend and see how it does. Anyone else with positive or negative experiences on this new weapon?

Greeting's Sir-

Yes, I've owned one since a couple of days before Christmas 2005 and
thus far its been a surperb weapon. There are features on this pistol
that I prefer over the Glock's; like stainless steel magazines, steel
sights, steel guide rod assembly, ambi magazine release, and of
course the grip safety~! I give it a "thumbs up" in the industry.

My price on the Springer XD-.45 ACP with GEAR accessory's was only
$399 NIB.

I have owned my XD45 ACP for about two months now. I have put around two thousand rounds through it now (all 230 grain FMJ) and have experienced no problems of any kind at all. Phenomenal reliability:what:

I paid $469.00 NIB for it in the SA promotional kit which contains mag holder, holster, etc., and comes with two mags. I was also able to purchase two additional mags at that time (there were really hard to get then) for $28.00/mag.

Accuracy, for me, is a an "iffy" question in that I have "aging eyes" and just seeing the doggone target is a sometimes difficult exercise. However, I can put 14 rounds into a 9" paper plate at 25 yards (two hand hold) with no difficulty. So, if I am ever attacked by a paper plate - I'm ready.

I carry the pistol in a FIST #43 belt slide-clip holster which has worked quite well for me. This holster allows for either IWB or OWB carry. Here is a pic of my XD in the FIST holster.

I am much impressed with this pistol and, based on my experience, would recommend it highly.

Cause my friend Ala Dan works in a gun shop;)

If he could get it for me at that price I'd stop by his shop in June when I'm driving thru his state on my way back to Arizona from Georgia.:D

Greeting's All-

Wow folks', I wish I were able too get all THR members a Springer XD-.45
ACP at that promotional price as a small gift of appreciation for you all
being here; but unfortunately that was a one time deal that I lucked up
on from my employer~!:uhoh: :D

Now, if only I could luck up on another deal like that on the NIB Springer
TRP, or Tactical Response Pistol. that we just got in. That baby is priced at $1229.88.

I love mine . .only 300-400 rounds through it so far, but 2 more new mags arrives from Springfield yesterday so I'll be out shooting it once it quits raining! :)

Have a good one,
Dave

I have had mine for about 3 months and love it. I carry it full time now with no problem. I have put about 600 rounds through it and really enjoy every shot. Nothing negitive about it so far. I plan on getting a tactical 45 as well.

Had mine for about two months and have run about 700 rounds through it. Not a single burp from WWB FMJs. It's not really happy with Winchester JHPs...about 10 FTF out of 200 JHPs. Time to try other JHP rounds, see what this one likes.
It's a natural pointer and +/- 3" at 25 yds from a rest. Currently its my carry piece (230 FMJ).The FIST holster looks like a winner.
Now, they are +$500 for the full kit and don't stay in the case long at all. Have been toying with the idea of running some 45 Supers through it...HMMMM.

I'd rather have the Tactical without the holster and mag carrier. Just the pistol and the mags and I'll find my own quality leather hoster instead.

Anyone know if they sell the tactical without the items mentioned above?

I don't think they do, but IIRC, if they did it would be the same price but without the goodies. They're supposedly included at no charge after all ;)

For what it's worth, as soon as I my CZ-75B sells, that money is going toward a new XD 45. It's funny though, my decision actually had little to do with the caliber. The 45 has a better finish supposedly, and the last thing I want is for me to have to send an XD 9 or 40 back to Springfield for a refinish, and I'm not a big fan of shiney slides ;)

I can't wait for this baby to come home ;)

I bought mine about 3 months ago and absolutely love it! I love the mags! By the way where is the best place to get some XD45 mags? I had about 2000 rounds of Wolf FMJ when I bougth my XD45 so Ive been feeding it with the Wolf and so far it loves it! It is my nightstand piece mated with a Streamlight M6. Ill carry it when the summer is over also. It is a very comfortable gun! I plan on getting the 5" when it is available. What are the chances of SA making a Sub out of the 45?

I don't know if it's the best place to get them, but I ordered some from Springfield on a friday about 2 weeks ago and they were here the following wednesday. I think they were $26 apiece.

Regards,
Dave

Springfield XD-45 vs. Ruger P345

Me and my friend are going to the range today to compare his new XD to my new Ruger. I'll edit this post when I find out how they did.

I really like his XD 45. My Ruger jammed twice, the trigger pull is really, really long, and accuracy was so-so. We didn't really test 'em that close. It was more-or-less just a "Look, we have new guns, lets shoot gobs of really cheap ammo and not really care where it goes" kinda day. I hate to admit it but I think he has the superior firearm. Real testing, after they are broken in, with better ammo will tell the tale.

XD-45 is a great gun

Just adding my two cents:

I've owned an XD-45 for about six months now. I've taken it to the range at least twice a month and probably have put over 1000 rounds through it by now. It's a great gun.

When it comes to accuracy, I'm the limiting factor, not the gun. The trigger is very smooth, the sights are good (though my front sight is showing wear and tear from all the gunpowder residue) and the recoil is very manageable (feels lighter than a Springfield MilSpec 1911-style pistol even though the gun is lighter).

But accuracy is only requirement #3. Requirements #1 and #2 are reliability and, well, reliability ;^) And I have no complaints in that regard either. Every malfunction I've seen with the gun (I've experienced none, but two of my friends have had failures to extract) can be attributed to user error. No failures to feed, no light strikes. You put 13 rounds in the magazine and it sends 13 bullets down-range with no drama.

The highest praise I can think of for it was when one of my gun nut friends (I'm merely a dabbler compared to some people I know) fired it for the first time. He put a magazine through, put it down and said, "I may have to get one of these." And believe me, not only is this guy knowledgable, he's also very, very frugal. If he's willing to spend money on something, I =know= it's good.

Have a good one!

I have the XD .45 acp and I like the 13 + 1

I have the XD .45 acp and it's an awesome handgun. I have fired about 2000 rounds through mine and I can hit everything I shoot at. It's the tactical 5 inch edition. :)

Is the aftermarket support good for these pistols yet? I'm looking to either purchase a GLOCK 19 or a 4" XD45. I am really no fan of the GLOCK, other than their reliability and the fact I would never have a problem acquiring mags, holsters, sights, etc. for the GLOCK (Big problem with my Daewoo DH40, aside from the fact I have had too many failures to extract resulting in double-feeds:barf: ). I would much rather have the XD45, if there is enough products available for it (tritium sights, extra mags, IWB/OWB/retention holsters, etc.)
