opinions on the TC Venture

I have a TC Dimension in 223, which is similar to the Venture in action/trigger/barrel/fit and finish. I'm happy with it overall. TC has an accuracy gaurantee, and mine is a great shooter. My trigger has the slightest bit of creep, usually I don't notice it but sometimes I do. Fit and finish is accetable but not exceptional. I had to send mine in under the recall that TC announced last summer, and TC's customer service was, again, acceptable but not exceptional.

Overall I'm satisfied with my TC purchase. From their site it looks like the 6.5x55 is offered with a 24" barrel. That should be extremely pleasant to shoot, in terms of recoil and noise. If it's anything like my TC it will be a lights out shooter too.

What's the street price, and are you married to the idea of getting a 6.5x55?

I have two ,one in 7mm-08 and one in .223.They are both 1 inch MOA as advertised.Triggers are awesome. They are adjustable 3.5-5 lbs. Both of mine adjusted down to 3.2.Thinking of gettin 7mm mag next. Also the Weathershield finish is awesome as well.

The venture is an all around pretty good gun. My draw back with your choice is lack of iron sights. Sometimes hogs just "appear". And they can appear pretty darn close. To close for a scope. Now if you are hunting out of a blind then that alleviates that problem.

Also why are you wanting one in 6.5? I'm not saying in any way it's not plenty capable. Because it most certainly is. My thinking is ammo availability/cost. IMO, the 6.5 is best suited for reloaders. If you do reload then that alleviates that issue as well. Or maybe you just want something a little different than the classic standards. You haven't chosen poorly either way.
