As some here may know, I craft thick laminated leather belts, and many full flap handgun holsters. My Ruger Old Army holsters have been well-received, and I am always looking for new ways to meet the needs of fellow shooters.
I have a CVA Optima V-2 pistol that I love and cherish. As many will agree, it's a large pistol with a 14 inch barrel, and is often equipped with a suitable scope. Also it's well-thought of hunting gun, but is set up for a sling carry approach.
I've not found many holster options for the gun, and have been considering designing and crafting a leather belt holster for my CVA. Am I thinking too far outside the box so to say? I value other BP enthusiast opinions, and may "just because" craft a holster to protect my CVA during range trips. An accessory belt pack for hunting essential supporting the CVA is in my thoughts too.
Thanks as always. Don.

I too so some leather work and have made some simple drop in leather holsters for single shot BP pistols. Didn't bother with a flap though
I found that because of their length I had to let them hang low down on the thigh.
I use snaps to form the loop but add them on when the buyer tells me the belt width he will be using.
