hows the durabilty on these?, q.c. issues? are they real world functional or are they just good "range holsters"?

im looking for some OWB options for my glocks, i always carried iwb but in the winter i want to try owb for comfort.......

do the standard holsters have any "tilt" to them or are they straight up and down? do you have to get a roto style to have the fbi cant?

compare paddle to belt loop style, i prefer belt loops.

im considering this brand because they are relatively cheap so if i dont like this mode of carry i wont be out 50-100 dollars.........

thanks.

Cheap can be good... for a while. I've got a cardboard box w/ heaps of cheap.
If you want inexpensive, buy a Glock holster.
If you want good, there are several. Check out Sidearmor http://sidearmor.net/
Several people swear by them instead of AT them.

One of my carry methods is a Glock 27 in a Fobus paddle. Works well for me. Put on a T-shirt and cover with a colorful button shirt and leave unbuttoned. Easy on and easy off.

so is that fobus paddle "canted"? im not crazy about paddles, i had one come out with the gun during practice.........hows the retention with yours?

While I have never purchased a Fobus holster, but I have looked at them at my local range on more than a few occasions. I've never liked their quality or look. They just seem too flimsy and poorly made.

Sidearmor holsters are a bit more expensive, but IMHO they're *far* better in terms of quality.

well, if money wasnt an issue, i try sidearmor..... but if i dont like it, im out a hell of alot more than if i dont like fobus.......

thats why i asked about fobus first.

i'll save the sidearmor thread for another day.

Jerry, FOBUS makes a very good holster, with one of the best paddle designs on the market(it will not come out of your pants). I carried a G19 in one for awhile. I use Blade-Tech holsters, which are great holsters, and still had them modify the retention system to include side tabs like the FOBUS.

The Fobus Roto design protrudes from the side more than their paddle style does. They seem to be a functional holster, John Farnam has noted some failures to release the gun during his classes in the "quips and quotes" section of his website. Ihave a couple of them, and think you're better off to spend more and get a better rig. Sidearmor is a good choice for plastic, I like Milt Sparks for leather.

The Fobus paddle is not canted. I've not any problems with retention or the paddle coming out of my pants. For the money, I think that it is hard to beat. Granted it is not a work of art, but I find it very functionable..

I am currently wearing my G-27 in a Fobus paddle. With a belt on, they don't move at all. With out a belt mine still stays in the pants but my pants get tugged up a bit before the gun releases. I actually own two and the retention on both is very good to the point of almost being too good.

I would not consider it a waste of money if you don't like it. They run what, under $20? If you decide you don't like OWB, you aren't out much. If you decide you do, then you could invest more money on a different holster.

The best part is, if you break it, they will replace it no matter what!

I had one that had zero retention. It was made to fit three or four different guns, and that was the problem. It wouldn't fit the gun I bought it for, so I complained.

They sent me a new holster that was just for my gun, and the fit was perfect. The even let me keep the first one, which now fits a newly bought firearm.

I carried a G-26 in a fobus paddle for over a year with no problems at all.1 thing to watch for is holsters that claim to fit more than one gun,it'll not fit any of them well.

I've carried a Glock 23 in a standard Fobus paddle holster for a little over a year now. Very comfortable, excellent retention w/ a smooth draw, and easy on/easy off. I recommend them very highly. And even if you disagree with me, you're only out $15. Definitely worth a shot. My $2*10^-2...

kieslers online has some green GL2 holsters on sale for like $7.99 in the closeout section.

I really like mine for the G19, quick and easy when I'm walking the dog.

I have Fobus belt holsters for my G26 and G30. I like them, they're very secure in keeping the gun so only you can draw it. Some even complain they're too secure!

They were something like $15.00 each from www.ivanhoeoutlet.com They're good value for the dollar.

But my preference for everyday carry would be Sidearmor. The quality, fit and finish is superior to Fobus. Of course SA costs more. But if you don't like the SA, you could resell it and not take a bath on the resell. They seem to get swapped up real quick in the classifieds.

i have fobus paddle holsters for serveral of my pistols and would highly recommend them over anything else under $50...maybe even $80

they are very stable on the belt/waistband and i have never had one come out on the draw. their regular line have a designed in cant...except their K/L frame model...with the roto model providing additional adjustment at the cost of being thicker.

their paddle for the glock rides the highest on the belt and surprisingly, the J frame rides the lowest

I have one for every pistol I own. They are easy on and easy off. They are my first choice if I know that I am going to have to remove the gun during the day.

Au contraire. All 5 of my Fobii paddles have a 15 degree FBI cant.

no more comments needed.

i did a little hands on trial with the help of a local gun shop employee.

he has a blade tech and it is much higher quality that the fobus, which wasnt bad, just not as sturdy.
