They are awesome! Sure, things may not always be instock, but I've never received a broken item (I live overseas) and never had a product fail on me yet. I like the fact that you can choose different shipping companies as well, they are very flexible on this. Overall a great company to deal with.

I've ordered from them 6 times. Spotting scope, 2 sets of binocs, riflescope, rings, scope caps. They go out of their way to make sure you know about all rebates (I got an awesome fleece rainjacket with my spotting scope...if they wouldn't have told me, I wouldn't have known about it.) Just be sure to call to find out if the items are in stock. The people are very knowledgeable and friendly. Their reviews are helpful, and if you're looking to buy something, you can post on their forum (which is very active) and get feedback.

Some of optic planet's shipping arrangements were pretty inconvenient for me, as they wouldn't allow me to pickup my package at the local UPS hub after delivery failed a couple of times. I haven't encountered any other vendors with that particular restriction.

SWFA on the other hand has been pretty good so far.

Ive bought from Optics Planet on several occasions and have had zero problems, out of stock issues. They have always had my items ( knock on wood ) and their shipping has turned out to be free every time so far with no tax, so it's been a win win for me. Your mileage will vary of course. Just my .02
