Optics Planet...

Does anyone here patronize Optics Planet? I have been searching for Ruger-to-Weaver scope base adapters and the only place that seems to have them is OP. I was in Bruno's today and he says nobody in his wholesale network has them listed in stock. His computer even shows Burris as out of stock. I guess the question is: Is Optics Planet a trusted vendor?

Use this site above before you go directly to optics planet. It's owned by Optics planet but the prices are always lower in that site for some reason.
My last three scopes were from there but basically from OP. If I remember it was $50ish off the scopes(all 3 were the same) from directly dealing with Optics planet.

Too many times I ordered from OP to find that they didn't have it in stock and I would have to wait weeks to get it.

Brother and I both ordered holsters from them prior to a deployment, then after a week or two the bums told us it would be 6 weeks + to get them. That was the last time I will try to do business with them.

Dishonest in my mind to sell me something which you don't have in stock even though your site says it is.

you have to look hard at the availability, but you can see what is where before you order it. just have to ask the site the right way.

I'll be the oddball out here. I ordered an "In stock" item from Optics Planet several years ago. Waited for about 4 months and it never shipped and I was never charged. I cancelled the order and notified my bank just in case they tried to pull the money. Ordered the part from somewhere else for much more, but shipped same day.

I check everywhere when buying optics or related stuff and always end up ordering from OP. Always had good service. Their website could definitely be better.

Optics planet return policy is second to none. Many places you cannot return a scope. They send you shipping label email you all along the way and send you notice when they credit your account.

They must have just moved into Nevada, as the last order I tried to get from them they included sales tax and shipping. Needless to say I cancelled the order. Other than that they've been pretty reasonable.

I've also ordered something from them that showed in stock on their website but I got an email saying it was out of stock and would be six weeks until it shipped. I called and cancelled the order and got a different color (night sights) right away with no problems at all. I didn't think much of it as maybe the website just wasn't updated yet, I've done business with them a few times since then and have always been happy

I've bought a couple of rifle scopes and a spotting scope. Great folks, and got my orders very quickly.

I ordered a scope from them early this summer with some trepidation having heard some web negativity. Received the scope promptly and realized it was not a good fit (entirely my fault). I called, spoke to a knowledgeable and efficient American who authorized a no cost return and bought another scope from them that fit perfectly. So, based on my one interaction, they are in my good books.

OP is GTG. The only thing that sucks about them is sometimes you're led to believe they have a product in stock when they really don't.

They are pretty good. One order was fine. Second was on back order indefinitely. I cancelled without issue.

Their search engine blows though.
