So, maybe the good sheriff should consider parting with her own firearm. I'd say she fails the test of " ... determine whether the gun owners demonstrated an immediate fear for their safety or held an occupation so inherently dangerous that they needed to carry concealed weapons in public..." After all, she doesn't serve warrants, go out on SWAT activities, do traffic stops, or patrol neighborhoods. I would imagine her activity is pretty much limited to talking with bureaucrats, politicians, and members of her department. I'd also imagine that on the job she's always surrounded by armed officers who are more than capable of protecting her as well as themselves. So why does she need a gun? If other people have to demonstrate need, why shouldn't she?

Jim March,
Do you know this Billy Jack character? Looks like he is after CCW fraud like you are after vote fraud.

I know Billy Jack's real name. It's a very old name in California RKBA/CCW fights, long pre-dates mine. I don't know why he doesn't want to use it but I'll respect his choice. Trust me: everybody who's read the case law on California CCW has encountered his name.

But I don't completely agree with his current tactics. Short form: he has to add a racial discrimination claim to his CCW challenges. That means a black or Latino plaintiff. What he's doing now isn't going to get us anywhere.

How about the NEED to be able to retain one's constitutional rights from a tyrannical government authority who wants to repeal said rights?

Sound familiar?
