If you go to the "additional terms of sale" from many dealers, they state right at the top......"We reserve the right to cancel the order at anytime.". This would tell me they do not need an excuse.
I suppose taken to the letter, that would give them fair claim to dispute a negative feedback even.
“Well, we said right here in the ultra fine print that we won’t sell to you if we don’t like the selling price, or don’t feel like it, or don’t know how to read numbers.”
Reminds me of sellers “testing the waters”. They really don’t want to sell unless they get some target pie in the sky price.
In my instance, there were no such claims. They are just bad at their job.
They probably thought they were going to get a lot more than 1 bid.
Same story with me. I was the only bidder at $400 with a $600 BIN price.
I have to say, I am more mad at the circumstances than not getting the item. I’m not too broke up about it as it was sort of an impulse and it was something I would use. The immediate email after the auction ended about how they couldn’t sell it to me because it was the “wrong” price really gets on my nerves.
It wasn’t wrong. It was lower than they wanted to sell it for most likely. However, it could have been a consignment item and they did make an honest mistake and didn’t get as much for it as their client wanted. If that was the case it cost them a new negative feedback which may or may not matter long term.
Even after mine, they still have a 78 A rating.
