Gunbroker is good for accessories and other such stuff. I just picked up some grips for my Astra Cub, from some maker in Indonesia. Prices are actually less than what I can get plastic grips for (these are checkered rosewood). The prices are probably a king's ransom for them, but so long as they are good quality when I receive them, I'll be happy.

There's plenty of decent deals I've found, but it's mostly on more esoteric items, stuff the bulk of gun buyers don't go looking for. I've found a few "R" stocks/forends for the Mossberg 500 at crazy low prices from time to time.

Except for one transaction, Gunbroker.com has been excellent. I have bought numerous firearms off the site.

-I got a deal on a Tokarev TT-33, CZ-52, accessories, and over 1800 rounds altogether for $550 a year and a half ago.

-Last month I got a deal on an Arsenal SLR-100H milled AK with all the pre-ban features for only $615!!

-Bought a brand new Arsenal SGL-21-61 for $670 brand new, most dealers charge way over $700.

-Also bought a brand new Arcus HiPower 9mm. clone for less than $300.

The deals are out there you just have to look on an almost daily basis. However that does not mean you are going to find a deal daily, weekly, or even monthly. Its all about knowing what you are looking for and stumbling across it. At least for Combloc guns I have gotten really lucky when people do not know what they have, think they have commie pieces of crap (when they really are not, they are just ignorant) and I win out by getting them for way less than people who know what they have.

I've done several dozen transactions on GB over the past few years, some as a seller, most as a buyer. I've had one bad deal the whole time (I was the buyer) and GB stood behind me and *made* the seller make it right. I have no doubt that without GB's automatic transaction insurance (however they might refer to it) that I'd have been left out in the wind by the seller.

Do not send any info yet to gunbroker. Not sure what you are experiencing, as I registered several years ago, but did the dollar thing and never had a problem. I would email them, and have them explain what their problem is. I have used gunbroker for 4-5 years, have found many hard to find items, sold just as many things, and had a great experience. I can find stuff there that would take me years AND extreme luck to find at a shop or gunshow. Good luck. I trust that any problems can be resolved.
Ditto ... I've been using GunBroker since 1999 ... never forget my first purchase :) bought a HK SR9 for $1300 from a pawn shop in Florida ... since then I've had several hundred great transactions and only 2 bad ones. One guy bought a stock from me and then tried to return a different stock, I sent it back to him COD. The other welched on the deal and gave me bad feed-back for giving him bad feed-back.

On Gun broker, I usually search for local shops who have auctions. That way don’t have to pay shipping and if the seller is an FFL, he charges just $2 for the background check. Check w/ the seller before expecting this type of transaction as not all sellers want to meet w/ individuals.

You have to know what a good price is, and wait until you see it. I have bought about 30 guns off gunbroker and auctionarms, and have had zero problems with either site, but GB has a lot more auctions posted on it, so it's more likely to have what I'm looking for. I looked and looked for a couple different guns, and never saw one I liked for a decent price, but eventually, I found them and put bids on them with a maximum of what I was willing to pay and I won them. One of these took 4 years of checking daily to get for what I wanted to pay for one! I could have paid $100+ more for it several times before, but I waited and finally got it. I've never been disappointed in any gun I've bought on an auction. All have been as good or better than described/pictured, as sometimes the camera is junky, or the gun is really dirty. A couple of times, I've been shocked to discover that the gun was much better in person than it looked in the pic, and with some cleaning was near mint.

The local shops have just insanely high prices. A used gun goes for what a higher than average new on goes for on GB, and a new one is full list price. How the one place stays open, I don't know.

I've had good success with Gunbroker. Especially in finding items such as a 10mm 1066 3rd Generation Smith, NIB for $715 or a NIB CZ Compact for $417. Like with anything else......buyer beware, check the feedback and if it doesn't look right.......pass. Ask the seller a question and see how well he communicates. Make sure anything you buy comes with a tracking number and insurance and try to deal with established businesses as much as you can.......and remember, there's nothing there you HAVE to have.

I've been registered with GB for several years now and never heard of the dollar deal. I just purchased a new to me Beretta 92fs Centurian but got it on AA and got a better deal money wise and gun wise than anything that was listed and comparable on GB.

If I recall, using a registration email that isn't tied to your business or ISP raises a red flag. I used comcast.net to register and gmail.com for the public address. I guess anyone can get a yahoo or hotmail account and there's the security problem.
