I drove over to Barnwood Arms in Ripon (CA) today, really nice gun store BTW, and put $500 down on a USFA 4" Double Eagle in 45 Colt. I upgraded the grips form black hard rubber to aged faux ivory. They do an outstanding job of color case hardening and their workmanship is first rate. Its one of those "I'm buy'n 'cuz I want it" guns and I'm look'n forward to have'n a good time at the range with it.

I'm anxious to here the range report on the short barrel saa.

I think a Ruger Montado may be in my future.
