guthrie, ok
I ordered a complete lee anniversary reloading kit. Id always though about getting into it, and yesterday i was given a h&r break top hammerless in 38s&w. I figured this was the perfect opportunity to start.

Other than what comes in the anniversary kit, i know i need a 38sw die set. What else am i missing that is required? A gauge?

P.s. i have a good digital scale

Caliper.

Use one scale to check the other or use a check weight in similar weight to the charge you're going to load.

If you decide to load rifle cartridges, get a better lube.

Digital micrometer from harbor freight to check length of finished rounds.. about $15 ish.. less if you find a coupon.. that gun should be pretty forgiving of a few thousanths in oal..

Loading manuals

Brass

Bullets

Powder

Primers

A set of calipers
This is pretty much it, I started with that kit 6-7 years ago and I think it is a great starter set. I wouldn't buy many extras yet, start loading then decide what will work best for you once you get going and upgrade or add as you set fit.

I wouldn't worry about the reloading blocks yet, you can use old factory ammo trays from the boxes to get started. I have a couple blocks but never use them, I do load mostly progressive, but even on the single stage I usually use a factory ammo tray.

One of the things that you might want to get is the Lee trimmer setup. Pretty sure the 38 S&W will stretch a bit upon firing and resizing. If you buy the Lee dies, they will give you a little scoop in there you can use to measure out powder for your reloads. Not the most consistent loads, but if you follow the instructions it will be a time saver for you.

That was my first kit as well.

I still use the press, but the scale & powder measure were replaced post haste.
(IMHO they're terrible)

Infact, I avoided a beam scale for many years because the Lee safety scale is so slow & picky.
Last year (2012) I finally bought a Lyman/Ohaus scale. WOW what a difference!
I still use my PACT BBKII, more often but don't be scared off of beam scales by the cheap Lee.

And finally ...

WELCOME to the addict ... oh, I mean hobby, ya, that's it, hobby  :D

I like my case gauge a lot. Especially for my 45 stuff.
Be safe, check everything twice at least, and have fun learning.
As Hondo said, welcome to the addiction!

Not sure if the kit includes a bullet puller or not. Not that you will ever make any mistakes like I do, but just in case :).
