So, if I order a piece from budsgunshop, how do I handle the 7 day waiting
period my state requires, Minn. They say it is my responsibility. They ship right to my home address from what I gather.
Thanks,Floyd

No, they must ship to your local FFL dealer.
Under Federal law, since 1968, they can't ship directly to your house.

Your FFL dealer of choice handles the paperwork, the backround check, and any waiting period required.

They won't ship until they have a copy of someones FFL to ship it too.

I might be way off base here - I have been before. But let me say a few things:

1) I've never heard of a "waiting period" in MN. I've lived here for 41 years, purchased about 30 guns, and never waited.

2) Unless you are talking about a C&R piece, and you have a C&R license, they cannot ship directly to you. You need to have it go to an FFL.

3) Buds should have known this and acted accordingly. Either I'm way out of the loop, or something is fishy here.

Unless you have an FFL, they can't ship directly to you. They will ship to an FFL dealer that you choose and contact. Your dealer will have to send budsgunshop a copy of his FFL - either by mail or fax. Your dealer will hold the gun for the 7 day period.

bensdad, I looked it up on the Minn., gun laws, they say on ordering any gun
there is a seven day waiting period.
I want to order a Ruger GP 100 357 mag.
Thanks, Floyd
However if you buy at a gun show you don't have to do this--- go figure.
Or from a private party.

I have purchased two guns from Buds, they ship to your local FFL.
Good people to deal with, no problems.

floydster -- quite a shock - I dug up the statutes, and you are right -- the statute discusses both a 7 day or 5 business day waiting period. I wonder, however, if that isn't waived by the acquisition of a state Permit to Purchase a Handgun. I bought six handguns in 2007, and all were shipped in to my dealer - nothing in stock - and there was no wait, no how... yet, I couldn't find the Permit to Purchase mentioned in the Statutes... aaaahhhh, Minnesota!
