Oregon Magazine Ban

My understanding is that it is still on hold. Online vendors are still shipping hi capacity magazines here and they stopped when the measure passed. When the court put an injunction on the measure they started shipping again.

Honestly if it were in effect you would have a very hard time finding a law office that would be willing to enforce it.

I have a friend in SW Oregon. On a visit two weeks ago the LGS still had all of the regular, more than 10 round magazines for sale. The guy behind the counter said he doubted if it would ever go into effect. A LEO came in and said basically the same, it was not in effect and was told by higher ups they really didn’t have the manpower to ever enforce it.

I live in Oregon and it’s business as usual. Even have standard capacity mags on every store shelf.

LEOs won't enforce it. There are some towns with ordinances prohibiting open carry and the LEOs don't enforce those either. The bill is on hold and it probably will never go into effect as written. I figure they will do a new bill in regards to to certification and training.

You are correct in that it will not go into effect as written. These bastards are using the emergency clause to force a worse law upon us pawns. HB2005 is worse than the measure 114 in question.

Problem I have with all these bills is they try to lump all the issues and it should be one bill, one issue. HB2005 should not be addressing age and local agencies.
