Remington 1901 Target Pistol, circa 1909, in .22 Short.

At what distance(s) would this have been fired at and at what type of target(s)?

A,C, Gould said, in 1894, that the .22 Short was accurate to 50 yards. He briefly mentions the Remington, spends more ink on the Stevens. Maybe because they named a gun after him?
The Standard American Target for 50 yards had an 8" bull, same as the present NRA 50 yard slowfire. I don't know if the scoring rings were exactly the same. but scaling off the screen, they look close.
The 30 yard target was half size, a 4" bull, the 20 yard target quarter size, a 2" bull.

The US Revolver Association shot matches at 50 feet and 20 yards. Single shots allowed in spite of the name. I don't know what targets they used.

Gould's book 'Modern Pistols and Revolvers' revised 1894 is online and is a wonderful resource.
