Fred and his merry volunteer band of rifle instructors will be coming to the vacation Mecca of the world on January 27,28, 2007.

This could be the greatest family vacation ever ! You bring the family to Central Florida, the wife and maybe the kids (if they dont wanna shoot) can lounge by the hotel pool in our fabulous tropical climate, visit a theme park, or shop. While you spend two days learning to shoot your Rifle better than ever before.

Its a regular Appleseed shoot $45 for one day, $70 for two (2 day attendee's get a souvenier t-shirt).

Bring:

Your favorite Rifle
approx. 400 rounds of ammo
eye and hearing protection
a groundcloth to shoot from
anything else you think you need to shoot well

You will learn:

The 6 steps to firing the shot,
Positions,
NPOA,
The Rifleman Dance,
using your breathing to adjust elevation,
Zeroing,
Turkey Neck,
sling use,
Talking Targets,
and a bunch more !!!

What kinda rifle to bring:

AR's, AK's, 10/22's, M1A's, FAL's, Garands, Enfields, Mosin's, SKS's, Bolt Guns, Semi's Whatever You GOT !!!

Other than being the best training/preparedness bargain in America, there's nothing here for the average shooter.

As long as that average shooter can shoter 4 MOA from field positions out to 500 yards (all shots in 20").

That's not so hard, right?

WOW we are only about 4 weeks out and only three....3.....people have registered for this event.

Volunteer instructors are coming from as far away as Colorado to put on the event ....and no one is planning to attend ??

January 27th & 28th : Appleseed Rifle Clinic - starts at 8:30am sharp!

Briefly, the Appleseed Rifle Clinics are put on by a non profit group called the Revolutionary War Veterans Association (RWVA). The shoots teach short and long range modern rifle shooting at simulated and actual distance. You can bring any modern rifle to shoot with , M1A's, AR's, SKS's, 10/22's are the most common. I have also seen many other semi-auto's and several bolt action rifles. The COF typically utilizes the Army Qualification Target (AQT). Shooters will fire standing or off-hand, sitting, and prone. Its not a contest that pits shooter against shooter, its a learning experience that challenges you to make YOURSELF a better shot.

There is also a few minutes spent each day discussing the Rifle in Revolutionary War times and relating the Founding Fathers experience to present day gun ownership and responsabilities. The RWVA is strongly pro second ammendment, and see's a responsibility to educate shooters to hold a strong conviction for 2A and to give them some usefull premise that they can then take to spread the word to others in an educated fashion.


Instruction includes: The 6 steps to firing the shot, Positions, NPOA, The Riflemand Dance, using your breathing to adjust elevation, Zeroing, Turkey Neck, sling use, Talking Targets, and a bunch more!

This Range can hold a lot of shooters and we intend to try and fill it up ! We need you guys to recruit heavy and encourage folks to come. It is a somewhat unique opportunity for a guy to bring his non-shooting family to an event where there is plenty for them to do beyond shooting. Also an excellent mini vacation by adding a monday and or a friday to hit one of the theme parks.
 
Still plenty of room left for the shoot........

1 mile from the range there is: a Super Wal-Mart , Mcdonalds, Burger King, An all you care to eat Buffet that is excellent at the local truck stop, A Sonny's Bar BQ, Checkers, Taco Bell, Tourist trap Orange Juice Hut, Auto and Tire Repair shop (good to know ), Dominoes Pizza, KFC, Beef O'Braby's....sit down wing place/pub, Dollar General market, Dairy Queen, Blockbuster Video, Quizno's Subs, Tractor Supply Company, Chinese Restaurant.....I wouldn't , and a new Doughnut Shop.

5 miles away from the range near most of the hotels there is: Perkins Restaurant, Denny's, Chinese Food, Beef O'Bradies wings/pub, Waffle House, Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy's, Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, 7-11, and plenty of gas and convenience stores.

And about a quarter mile from the Range facing the road out is the Webb's Candy and Ice Cream Factory.


BRING THE FAMILY, STAY NEAR THE MAGIC KINGDOM AND ALL THE ATTRACTIONS AND MAKE IT A SHOOTING VACATION YOUR NEVER GONNA FORGET !
 
had a meeting with the guys at the Range today to go over last minute stuff ref. next weekends shoot......NEXT WEEKEND !!!!!!

The News:

The porta potty is to be freshened Thursday...
There is Water if your camping.....(drinkable but sulphery I'm told)
FREE CAMPING !!!
The Emu is Dead...
They are ready to cook us lunch $5 a head buys hot dog or burger, beans, tater salad, drink etc..
Drinks will be made available thoughout the day for a small fee, think she said $1 but don't hold me to it.
The people MAKE the shoot, and this will be a good one, Good Instructors and Good Range People !
I will be out there Saturday (along with at least one of the range guys) and putting up Target Stands

What else?.......

Weather is expected to be Sunny and about 62 degrees
The Hotel is apparently still honoring their price, as someone got it just 2 days ago.

............and I am sure there is more to tell, but can't think of it right now.

I was really looking forward to a family freindly vacation with a father friendly activity. Rots of luck here in the midAtlantic, so I'm going to miss this one.

But you all that are in the SE should have beautiful weather for the finest Marksmanship and Citizenship "training" you can possibly get. Worth much much more than the $70.00 for two intense days.

How can this be?

The beauty of VOLUNTEERS serving their country, by helping YOU rekindle the American Spirit that won our independenca from Britain.

I have to say again that I'm really looking forward to it.

I wouldn't expect temps in the sixties, except for early mornings maybe. This time of year the skeeters shouldn't be too bad. (Summertime, they can carry off small dogs.) Another thing... it rarely rains this time of year, but cloudbursts can show up out of nowhere, and be really intense... rain gear is a must. If you're not accustomed to being outdoors, the Florida sun can be somewhat bright. I'm bringing sunscreen, and I live here...
