other than the CMP Gunbroker and Auctionarms is the best place I think.I look there often.........too often
and you can get a nice one if you wait for the right one to come around.I scored a minty HRA collectors grade with CMP paper for what they were selling for from the CMP.
I personally pass on M1903's or Garands on the auction sites unless CMP papers come with it or at least a photo showing muzzle wear.
Most people try to get alot for them,most gunshops on the auctions try to get too too much for them but sometimes a nice one can be had for a decent price.
CMP is a great institution,but I like the fact that on auction sites you see what you are getting first and reputation of a seller if good makes it more dependable of a transaction.
I haven't checked the list to see if they are specifically listed, but any Garand manufactured prior to May 1958 (which should be most all of them) is automatically C&R due to age.
