Self-inflicted shotgun blast not life-threatening

A 20-year-old man shot himself in the groin early Sunday while trying to hide a shotgun down his pants, city police said.

A news release did not describe the injury except to say that it was "serious."

The victim was being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His injuries were not expected to be life-threatening, medical officials told police.

Officers responded to the 700 block of North 24th Avenue about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. They found the victim on the side of the road.

He had fired two rounds from the double-barrelled weapon, police said.

Police were continuing to investigate after they recovered the shotgun and an additional firearm reported stolen at the house where the shooting took place.
That will ruin your day!

Oh God The Mental Image Is Terrible Make It Stop

Edit: I see THR has a block lettering filter. My fun has been ruined. :(

If ya don't think too good, don't think too much. This lad obviously didn't think very well, or too often either. I'll bet the intended victim, whoever that might be, would be happy if they knew they were the intended....

They refer to him as a "victim" because, isn't it obvious, the poor guy was shot by the gun... the gun itself totally pulled both its triggers and fired both barrels.... into his groin... after of course, it loaded itself and tried to shove itself.... into a pant leg... i guess... I don't know, whenever I try to reason like an anti it just gets weird....:scrutiny:

That is a pretty horrible injury, though. Part of the reason I have a hard time getting myself to ever carry at "12oclock"....:uhoh:

Kind of gives new meaning to the phrase "Is that a gun in your pants or are you just happy to see me?"

Now will the original owner of the shotgun be charged?

Well all I can say is there is one less moron dirtying up the gene pool......

From my belt line to my *ahem* groin area... isn't but maybe a foot, depending on how low I'm wearing my pants.

That still leaves a whole lotta shotty sticking out the top.. Not very concealed, if you ask me.

And BOTH barrels? This just sounds fishy.

Fishy and painful.

wow... you would have thought he'd have learned not to do that on the first shot.

but nope.

He felt the pain and thought to himself, "I wonder if that had anything to do with shooting myself? Hmmm... well, just to make sure, let's see if the results can be reproduced." BOOM! "Yep. That seems to be the cause alright...... note to self: in the future, try to avoid shooting yourself in the nuts with a shotgun. Nothing definitive can be said about other guns, such and handguns or rifles, as no evidence exists yet to suggest that they would produce similar results - experimentation will be held at a later time to attempt to reach a conclusion for this - however, it can be said, fairly safely that shooting one's self in the nuts with a shotgun produces repeatable results, which are generally adverse in nature, including severe pain, bleeding, and later - embarrassment, shame, and confusion. I shall try to avoid it."

cue the song: "I'm half the man I used to be." by Nirvana.

Ok.... now that I've been a total jerk about it, I'll be honest. As stupid as what he did was, I honestly feel bad for him. Can you imagine what must be going through his mind right now? First the thoughts of what he had done to himself. Now the shame of everybody knowing via the media.

It must be awful. :(

having lived in WA for all for life and been to Yakima several times, i can say that it doesn't surprise me in the least but it sure doesn't make it any less funny. the chlorine/gene pool stuff sums it up nicely.

Bobarino: How do you think "I" feel?!?! I'm FROM that county!!! Granted...I'm from Sunnyside, with slightly less idiocy, but seriously...

"Stupid is as stupid does."

Wow...I would say I feel sorry for the guy...but thats definitely reaping what you sew right there.
