The Father of American Cavalry, Count Casimir Pulaski died on this day in 1779 from wounds suffered during the Battle of Savannah during the Revolution.

May we cherish his memory forever.

It's strange to think that our revolutionary army owes so much to foreign soldiers. Pulaski, Lafayette, and Prussian Army officer, Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben to name a few. Also there was a large number of native american soldiers who get little recognition.

We all could do their memories justice by looking into history to see their contributions, which helped us to gain our freedom.
