Outdoor public Ranges

We have a public outdoor range here right on land owned by Ft Carson. The ROs are usually current or former military and run a pretty tight ship. No bathtubs or tannerite. But there are still the idiots that shoot there. About 5 years ago I joined a private outdoor range and haven't shot at the public range since then.

The other thing we have in Colorado are millions of acres of public land that you can shoot on. That is where the really laim brains go to shoot bathtubs, TVs, bottles, palates, toilets and any other sort of unwanted junk they can find. Most of gets left in pieces in the woods. Pretty trashy.

Makes me glad that I'm a member of our local (private) gun club and have 24/7 access, 90+- acres that we can hunt on, an indoor pistol range, outdoor 25 and 50yd range, a 50 100 and 200yd rifle range (I believe that a 500yd range is in the works), members who respect the club rules, volunteer to clean up when needed and are knowledgeable, friendly and safety aware. Plus it's only an 8 minute drive from home
