Ladies and gents:

I had an interview Thursday morning with one of the New York gun owners who was "outed" by that newspaper, the Journal News, with a map showing his name and address.

This was one of those times when my instincts as a reporter kicked in and just let this guy talk. It's a fascinating discussion.

What do you say to a guy who tells you right up front "I'm a sex-offender now" about the way that story made him feel? naturally, the newspaper didn't return my call for comment.

Does anyone on this forum live in that region? Know anyone who does?
What this guy did takes a fair amount of nerve, IMHO.

BTW: He called me, not the other way around. And he was a great interview.

I wanted to share this with people so you can really understand what that newspaper did to people.

Good article, thanks. Small type-o in the fourth to last paragraph, "prop-gun" instead of "pro-gun.'

wrote a letter to the editor in my old state of ct about outing permit holders--told them that in my new state (sc)-no need to go through all the troubles--all you need to do is open any phone book.

Question,

Is there any publication or maps of Felons and where they live? I know there is one for sex offenders; I sure would like to know if any felons live near me.

Oooopps I forgot all felons have rights, and I guess that would violate their right of privacy.
