this is a new design as well. it is just over 9" long and made from forged 5160 spring steel. the Relic finish really works with the honey micarta and brass pins. it wears a deep hollow grind with random filework on the spine.

Wow!
I really like it!

Have you considered taper tanging it for more weight foreward balance??

Or maybe it is just fine.
Hard to tell in a photo???

Anyway, how do you do the Relic Finish?
In four words or less if you don't want to tell!

Like (None of your damn business, cause I'd have to kill you if I told you.)

Woops, that was 15 words!

my designs tend to be a bit front heavy from the get go, i just skeletonize the tang a bit before i epoxy the scales and the balance point is usually right on. i suppose i should dabble with some tapered tang models in the future just for aesthetics. the finish is just a nice coating of cold blue on the blank and little dunk in bleach for a day or so. of course, this one already had some leftover hammer marks from the forging process.

Thanks for that info.
Somehow, that just looked way deeper then forging hammer marks to me.

More like deep pitting from century's of exposure to the elements in a castle ruin or battle ground.

Anyway, it's way cool looking next to the perfect hollow grind, however you got it to look like that!!

Most excellent looking work!
