Someone give me some email addresses to start with, PLEASE.

Oh, and Trent's armed march idea sounds great. Where are we out there? We need to march

Wannabe, I wrote down the title of the thread to look up when I'm at home, but someone posted a week or two ago some resources on how to find contact info for your government reps. I'll link it after I get home (if I remember).

You can probably also google them, find their website, and get the contact info from there. HSO recommended to me that I contact every level of government, from city to state to country, and all three branches. I'm going to busy this weekend. Luckily we have a powerful tool that wasn't around in 1783 when the constitution was signed (correct me on year if I'm wrong, I'm terrible with dates): the copy+paste buttons.

I don't think petitions have much weight in the actions going on here anyway.
I think that enough petitions with their goals met will spell it out. I signed all of the appropriate ones. I recommend doing the same regardless of how much difference it might not make. You never know. It might get a reply that surprises you.

I understand quite well. I do tech support and I can tell you that the mealy-mouthed "don't start another petition" instruction is pure horse****. If I told my boss that duplicate tech support questions were making it hard to answer the original question, he'd tell me to shut up and do my job.
That appears on all the petitions.

The horse manure is the petition getting shut down while many with longer run times and lots more signatures still stand.

I think the thing speaks for itself. Not cool.

Big difference between ramming Obama care through and getting a gun ban done is that they don't have the House of Rep.

We need to play our trump here guys.

If they closed it because it reached 31k, why is there still one on the westboro baptist church that is at 200k

Probably because Obama's nuanced position is still evovulating; whereas the response to the gun petition was quite blunt for an administration that so rarely takes a hardened stance against, well, anything.

"Masses of Armed Dissendents Descend on Capital. Protestors Appear Peaceful, For Now"
"American Opposition Leaders Arrested at Anti-Gun Control Rally"
(from "Russian Opposition Leaders Arrested at Anti-Putin Rally";))

I'd love to do an armed march at this point, too, but Texas bans open carry, and the image is just too damn easy to exploit for emotions from the philosophically challenged in this country. Just look at that guy with the AR at the rally where Obama was speaking this last go-around; you'd think he'd been tackled by security the way the "threat" he posed was trumped up. No, marching around with our legal guns, we'd just be called Nazis.

TCB

Meanwhile, Chicago tallies its 500th murder, and life goes on...At least I heard Rahm blaming "illegal handguns on our streets" as opposed to gun in general. I suppose that's an improvement?

I think we need a march of several million. At least 10 million. Leave the guns at home we can come up with something else for legal political theatre. I would go.

A massed peaceful protest march with banners and signs and leave the guns at home.

The media would like to paint you as bloodthirsty baby killers so the need for calm is very important.

Any sign of aggression or anger on your parts will play directly into the hysterics hands.

This is right along the same lines of the obammacare debacle when the house and senet rammed it through without ever know what it said AND the fact 67% of americans were strongly opposed to it. The same pettitions were shut down and taken off the site as well.
