Finally got to the range to try out my Christmas presents!
My folks got me a Wilson 14.5" M4 profile barrel (I pinned and welded on a Phantom yesterday, BTW) and a RRA bolt carrier group. So I assembled them promptly on a 60's era Colt M16 small hole slickside upper, slapped it on a RRA lower with a 4 position stock, and PRESTO, instant GUU-5/P!
At 75 yards, I zeroed her in (range limit), and continued to burn up the 200 rounds of Olympic SS-109 I had with me. Hooah!
Second rifle was an original 1876 Winchester musket in 45-60, nice. A true rare treat, very soft shooting. I love the clouds of black powder!
Finally, a May 1945 dated Walther K43! The only downside was the limit of 20 rounds of 8mm I brought. Man that was one of the sweetest shooting rifles I've ever handled! Obviously held like a KAR98, but you wouldn't have guessed you were shooting 8mm. It felt more like and SKS in terms of recoil. Beautiful weapon!

Sorry for the delay, my camera took a dive, so I had to use my dads. :D Unfortunately, we didn't bring it to the range:banghead:

I'm lusting after that 1876 musket. If you ever want to sell it, I'm your man. I love shooting black powder cartridges, too. There's nothing like the BOOOM of a black powder round. It's much more satisfying than the CRACK! that a smokeless round makes. And that wonderful aroma....

Unfortunately, both the 1876 and the K43 belong to customers of my dads. We took them out to test fire before shipping back to the respective customers. The '76 was in for a major mechanical overhaul, while the K43 was in for an "arsenal refinish" of sorts, to undo a terrible stock staining years ago. Fortunately, the K43 still retains all of its original waffenampts, and is not import marked. The other neat little weapon we test fired was a .455 Webley, model of 1899 I believe, but Dad shipped it out before I could take pics.
Only the RRA "GUU-5/P" and the Blackhawk are mine.

nice!I was thinking about going out today but...yawn,wound up lazing on the 'puter instead.:p
