overall length of a bullpup

Hi all, I hope I'm in the right area. I'm considering converting a marlin .22 semi auto into a bullpup rifle using a kit stock from the internet. how would the laws governing "minimum overall rifle length" come into play regarding this type of conversion.

Any thoughts, info from those that are knowledgeable in this area would be appreciated.

16" barrel, 26" overall; leave extra since the ATF is known to use short rulers

Also check the NFA for yourself to be sure
