Overseas parts/magazine bringback

I'm talking a trip to Egypt and Jordon later this year. If I find someplace that is "practically giving away" FEG, Makarov, or Zastava parts and/or magazines, can I bring some back in checked baggage? Can I mail them to myself?

I would guess not, thanks to ITAR and other sorts of international restrictions on the importation of weapons-related parts and equipment.

That is a bummer, as there are so many guns out there that are absolutely wonderful, but no one can get parts for them.

My Zastava .32 pistol is wonderful (the Yugo one), like a mini-tokarev but in .32. Cant find mag one in this damn country for it. Stuck with the one mag, thats it. Ended up selling it just on that premise alone...

Call CBP and talk to an inspector and explain clearly what you want to send or bring back.
