Has anyone noticed a difference between brass with oversized vs. normal sized primer flash holes?

I'm not talking about huge holes, but those roughly 1/4 to 1/2 larger than the normal .062 flash hole. Not that large, but larger. And some twice as large. They all seemed to be ok, but until I inspected them and saw the flash hole differences and wondered if that would account for those rounds out of the group.

I inspect ALL my brass during the 1st (prep) stage and discard brass with very large flash holes and any offcenter flash holes. These are very few (only 6 in the past year).

I have a number of pieces of brass, with larger flash holes and wonder if the internal ballistics affect the external or terminal ballistics.

Thanks for any comments.

This has been covered in numerous threads. With some brands, such as Winchester, Federal and Speer, the larger flash hole is the new normal. Just load and shoot. Unless you're a precision bullseye shooter, shooting at 50 yards, you won't notice any difference.

Hope this helps.
