Overtimed Muzzle Brake for Right-Hander?

I was talking to a gun nut friend of mine last night and mentioned to him that a recently purchased FAL had a muzzle brake that worked very well but was not on straight. The brake is slightly out of level. This is a private build rifle assembled from an Imbel receiver and an Imbel kit. My friend opined that the brake may have been installed off-kilter on purpose to make firing the rifle better for a right-hander (which I am). My friend stated that commercially made or rack-grade rifles have the brake installed at 12:00 but that a gun assembled by an individual for his personal use might have the top of the brake at 11:45 or 12:15 to compensate for right or left-handedness. This was new information for me. Any comments?

AK slant brakes are set at an angle due to how the weapon will pull upwards and to one side while fired on full-auto.

Its not a big concern for semiauto fire.

I've timed MB's to compensate for left-right twists.

All Daewoo flashhiders are overtimed deliberately to compensate for recoil spin.

So for a right-hand twist it should be over-timed and for left-hand twist it should be under-timed?
