I have been looking for 3 days for a holster for my Sig P220 and have come up blank. I want an OWB open carry holster in black leather that isn't 100 bucks. I'd like to spend around 50 or so but could spend maybe a little more. Everything I've looked at has been inadiquate. I know Galco makes some, but they are too expensive. I live in Illinois, so CCW holsters are pointless, would mainly be for use on private property. Would prefer a thumb strap rentention only, but will consider anything at this point. Not a fan of kydex, but at this rate I might end up with fitted nylon because nothing else seems to fit. Help!

DeSantis Speed Scabbard, has a tension screw, I own 2, one for my 220 and another for my 229.

They should only be 40-60 bucks :)

Lobo Gunleather pancake about $45

Simply Rugged Cuda about $60

A good leather holster, and these two makers are good, won't require a thumb snap for good pistol retention. You should be able to put your pistol in a good holster, turn it upside down and shake it and it won't come out. If you are going with nylon you would probably want a thumb snap.

I would go with one of High Noon's "skin" line before nylon, if I was trying to save a buck.

Comp-tac makes a very good kydex belt holster. They are very secure, yet draw very fast.

Ok after some reading and measuring, a pancake might not work. The main reason is that it sits VERY high up on me. To give you an idea, with my hands at my side, my wrist is about 3-4 inches below my belt with normal fitting pants. I dont want a tactical leg holster, but i need something that sits lower on my thigh. Hope that helps a bit.
