Anyone find a kydex holster maker for this gun?

https://www.smith-wesson.com/firearms/mp-45-m20-4-compact

It's a newer configuration and S&W played around with configurations and names to where it is somewhat confusing. There are M&P 45 compacts that are not this gun.

I'd like an OWB holster with good retention that I can clip (so not loops, but a paddle or clip) and move from belt to backpack hip belt (woods gun). Thanks for any suggestions. I've searched the web for a few days now.

If you need a retention holster, the first place to start is usually Safariland

You'll probably need to call and tell them exactly what you have since their website isn't always updated.

The S&W M&P .45 2.0 Compact is a relatively new model, but since S&W is such a big player, my guess is Safariland either has a holster for it now, or will have one very soon.

Thanks

I have looked there and will again

Sorry if I was unclear

I don’t necessarily need above Level 1 retention

I just need the gun to snap in and be held well in case I slip while walking up a hill or something

But maybe I do need Level 2 or higher

The holster industry has done some shaking out over the past few years, and while they don't offer as much as they used to, Blade-Tech and Comp-Tac used to cover just about every gun out there. Both also offer a bunch of attachments that should accommodate just about anything you need.
