Owners Manual - S&W Model 52

Hello,

I am new to this forum and need some help. I have recently purchased a Smith & Wesson Model 52 and need to break it down to clean. There are a few different parts on the gun that I am unsure of. I have contacted S&W multiple times to no avail. Does anyone have the owners manual for this gun or can refer me in the right direction? I would love to obtain a copy so that I can have it for reference.

Please advise.

Thanks for the welcome and the quick reply. I have a version of the exploded diagram, but I am interested in the owners manual, which includes the step by step disassembly process. Any ideas?

No information specific to the S&W Model 52...

Not sure why I am having such a hard time trying to find the manual.

The Model 52 has a manual almost identical to the Model 59 listed at the Steve's Pages site. The only thing different is the picture. I have a 52-2 and it has the same instruction sheet. Field stripping instructions are listed on the sheet. HTH

I own a S&W Model 39 as well, which has pretty much the same disassembly as the Model 59.

I know there are differences between the Model 52-2 and the Model 59 with the barrel bushing. The barrel bushing on the Model 52-2 is screwed on, whereas the Model 59 is twisted and pulled out. The Model 52-5 has a pin that holds the bushing in place and I am not sure if the pin pops out that holds the bushing in place?

Right, Adam. The 52 has a bushing that screws in. There is a detent you depress and then unscrew the bushing after you have pulled off the slide-bbl-recoil spring assy. Pretty simple.

I was a bit apprehensive as I am new to the Model 52. I would still like to get my hands on an owners manual somehow, but my purpose has been served as far as getting it disassembled correctly.
