someone in the "worst gun" question mentioned their p-32 falling apart while firing, could you elaborate? i was wondering if you had changed the factory installed "polymer" (don't call it plastic) ejection spring guide rod to the steel one they offer to replace it. does anyone else have stories good or bad about these? i've had one for a while now and have never had any problems with it but naturally i'd want to hear any lowdown on them from other users.

thanx!

I would think the assembly pin came loose and the slide came off.
The steel guide rod for the P-32 is somewhat mixed. I have seen several reports of folks having trouble with it but it is fine for others. I prefer the polymer, I think a bit of flex helps it.

The assembly pin would back out in some of the early guns.
KelTec fixed mine, and I've put over 500rds through since, with no problem.
My wife's gun is newer, and it was never a problem with hers.

As I recall over on KTOG.org some users had trouble with the steel guide rpod & recommended staying with the "polymer". I haven't had any trouble with mine. The good thing is that if you do have trouble KT will rebuild the gun if that's what it takes to make it work right.

Thanx folks...

i've shot it with both rods and had no problem with either, my dealer told me the polymers were prone to breakage and recommended i change it. i'll have to put a few more through it just to reassure myself but so far it has been reliable with either rod. mine seems to be fairly accurate too. compared to the tomcat i had for a while, i couldn't hit the broad side of a wide barn with that one. havent had any problems with the pin coming out with the p-32 either so hopefully that issue has been resolved.
