Hi all..

I bought a Arotek SS captured guide rod and Wolff 18 lbs spring a while ago, and until today installed it.

The issue I had was the springs seemed too long while compressed in the guide rod, and it rubs against the frame of my G23. Of course, I doubt this is normal, I can feel the springs rub on the inside as I rack the slide.

Any opinions or advice? My stock plastic spring and guide rod is now back inside my gun until' I can figure this out. I did like the weight of the SS guide rod however.

Thanks for your help. :)

Richard, your gun works great the way it is. Aftermarket guide rods and springs are THE best way to make a Glock malfunction that man has devised to date. I would really recommend that you leave the stock assembly in it and buy a spare stock assembly for spare parts since most everyone is fixing what isn't broken and they are cheap.

If you must change springs get an ISMI spring of stock weight and put it on a quality guide rod that isn't captured. ISMI springs are of amazing quality and durability, makes Wolf look like paper clips glued together.......

Well, since you asked for advice... I'd have to recommend sticking with the stock assembly. Glocks seem to work their best with factory parts. I've read an awful lot of reports of malfunctions that vanished once the original parts were reinstalled.
